My vision of brotherly love...
I just want to take a moment and comment on Swat’s location. If some film director out there is looking to stage a movie at the intersection of forrest, suburbia, and metropolis, he should think about this campus. I’d volunteer to be an extra, preferably while seated in an Adironondack chair and reading Wordsworth, but that part’s negotiable.
I admit, I often overlook the fact that Swarthmore has the expansive Crum Woods, a folksy town, Balimore Pike, and the city of Philadelphia all within spitting-distance. But seriously, you can go for a trail run along the creek, purchase a shag-rug at the nearby Target, pay vigil to the Liberty Bell in Philly, and still have the rest of the afternoon for homework. Swat entails a lot of homework, so that’s saying something.
